Job Description

The Student Success Navigator plays a vital role in supporting prospective and current College of Technology students throughout their educational journey. By closely collaborating with students, the navigator offers expert guidance in selecting Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, gaining admission to, retention in, and successful graduation of their chosen College of Technology program.

One of the primary responsibilities of the navigator is to assist students in identifying program options that align with their career interests. By understanding each student's aspirations, the navigator provides tailored direction and equips them with the necessary tools to meet degree requirements and achieve their educational goals successfully.

Overall, the Student Success Navigator is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for College of Technology students, empowering them to make informed decisions, navigate the higher education landscape, and ultimately thrive in their chosen fields.

Key Responsibilities

•    Provide personalized guidance to diverse students in selecting programs and courses that match their interests, values, and abilities, facilitating successful career pathways.
•    Oversee the admission process for assigned programs.
•    Provide comprehensive advisement to College of Technology students, addressing program-specific requirements and majors through one-on-one meetings and in-class cohort advising interventions.
•    Communicate college and university policies effectively, helping students navigate administrative guidelines.
•    Regular consultation with program coordinators, faculty, and department chairs regarding admission requirements, student capacity, CTE curriculum, and student success rates within each program.
•    Provide advising support for appeals processes, including reinstatements and academic adjustments.
•    Assist students with required document completion, streamlining administrative procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in a related field
•    Experience working with diverse populations
•    Proficiency in interpreting and administering complex policies and procedures
•    Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and effectively manage stress
•    Strong multitasking and task prioritization abilities
•    Collaborative working style and a strong work ethic
•    Proficiency in computer-based applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Docs) and internet resources
•    Strong analytical and reflective thinking skills
•    Excellent organizational skills
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
•    Strong interpersonal skills and adept problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Qualifications

•    Master's degree in a related field
•    Experience assisting students with higher education academic planning in a college setting
•    Personal warmth in relating to students
•    Knowledge of the programs within the College of Technology
•    Knowledge of Idaho Launch


Additional Information

You must submit your CV/resume, cover letter, and list of three (3) professional references, including current contact information. This position will remain open until it is filled; however, priority consideration will be given to applications received prior to January 2, 2024. Salary will be between $46,050 to $50,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
