Position Overview
The Trailblazer Elite Student Success Coordinator is an intermediate level position that oversees the peer success coaching program with the intent of assisting incoming new and transfer students from the point of admission through enrollment using a case management approach. This includes providing information and support regarding the Trailblazer Elite programs and services, case management, intake, orientation and registration, financial aid interpretation, facilitating student engagement in academic and co-curricular activities, and university policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and three years of experience in enrollment management, student success, academic advising, student affairs or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  •  Demonstrated knowledge of retention management, student success, academic advising, and/or new student orientation practices 
  •  Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
  •  Current knowledge of student development and counseling theory
  •  Strong presentation, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  •  Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing 
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  •  Ability to work independently

Work Schedule
Monday – Friday: 8-5pm, sometime evenings and weekends.

Job Duties


o
  • Provider supervision and leadership to students of the Trailblazer Elite program.
o
  • Monitor caseload and program oversight, with attention to student progress towards successful enrollment, problem areas, and intervention activities and processes for students as they begin their experience at UNT Dallas.
o
  • Participates in off-campus and on-campus events supporting the Trailblazer Elite program. 
o
  • Develops a vision for implementing a successful coaching model and program for at-risk-students. 
o
  • Incorporates best practices research to effectively coach and support the work of the students Trailblazer Elite students.
o
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates the work of student workers.
o
  • Collect, maintain, and utilize assessment data to help improve student persistence and completion.
