The Student Services Specialist will provide professional reception and administrative support to the department, assist faculty, and students.
Essential Job Duties:
- Serve as the main receptionist.
- Greet visitors and guests.
- Answer inquiries via telephone and email.
- Performs general office support duties.
- Receives and distributes incoming and outgoing campus mail.
- Support the activities of the Graduate Liaison and Graduate Studies Committee.
- Assist students with processes and procedures.
- Student recruiting, admissions, enrollment, matriculation, end of program assessments, and graduation requirements, including maintaining confidential records.
- Oversee student program administration the undergraduate and graduate certificate levels.
- Support the department communication plan through email and social media accounts.
- Effectively use numerous software programs including Word, Excel, databases, HTML/CSS and numerous OU tools such as Slate, Cognos, One, and more.
- Coordinate with other units campus.
- Manage student events, special projects and department special events as assigned.
- Must be able to able to drive in order to pick up supplies, set up and clean up, food, etc for student events, special projects and department events.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Skills:
- Knowledge of office procedures.
- General office and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- Website editing experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
- Must be detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
- Ability to multitask, be organized, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work in stressful situations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and over email.
Certifications: None.
Advertised Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Regular pressure to meet productivity standards.
- Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
- Required to travel.
- Requires contact with other departments and university officials.
- May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Bend, stoop, carry, engage in repetitive motion and communicate effectively.
Departmental Preferences:
- 24 months administrative support-related experience.
- 12 month's experience in student affairs, counseling, recruiting, or a closely related field.
Supervision: No Supervisory Duties.
