The Student Services Specialist will provide full administrative support, operational oversight, and supervision of the Language Learning Center (LLC) for the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing and supervising the operation of the LLC, its resources, equipment, and personnel including scheduling, staffing, and training of student employees.
- Additional duties include coordinating student exams, overseeing inventory and equipment needs, assist with student events, maintain student data reports, website management, and coordinate IT support.
- Assists students with processes and procedures.
- Answers inquiries via phone and email.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Skills:
- Proficient navigating and maintaining databases
- Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty, and staff
- Strong initiative to solve problems
- Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
- Must be able to supervise student employees and communicate directions and expectations effectively
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. Ability to engage in repetitive motions. Ability to communicate effectively including receiving and delivering detailed information orally. Ability to see including color, depth perception and clarity, hear, crouch, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to sit, stand, or move for short or extended time periods.
Departmental Preferences:
- Experience with higher education and OU systems
- Advanced computer skills and wide knowledge of business software
- Bachelor Degree
- Supervisor or management experience
