Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The Student Leadership Services and Events Coordinator reports to the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management and Professional Development for the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM). The coordinator will support the daily events held in the College of HRSM Welcome Center, the event space located on the 7th floor of Close-Hipp, and other College of HRSM related events as directed. The coordinator will support all student professional development programs offered in the College of HRSM, taking an active role in ensuring student leaders and all Affiliated Student Organizations (ASO’s) have been personally supported. The coordinator is also responsible for space management and supporting annual events connected to the Enrollment Management and Professional Development unit for the College of HRSM and all units and departments as directed. Coordinates event set-up/take-down for all events, activities, and programs. Maintains a supply inventory. Processes payment requests for all event related expenditures, tracks event expenditures and prepares final event reports. Skills in student affairs, event planning, and large/small group presentations are necessary to perform required duties. Must relate effectively to students, faculty, and staff in a higher education setting. It also requires the physical ability to lift/set-up tables and chairs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Assist all the College of HRSM’s units with space scheduling, event promotion, pre-event planning, preparation, event execution and post-event assessment for select college spaces and events.

Provide administrative support to the College of HRSM’s student leadership development program events (i.e. HRSM Leadership Program, Marnie Pearce Professional Development Program, HRSM Living & Learning community, Mentoring/HRSMedge, and Dean’s Councils), and all College of HRSM’s Affiliated Student Organizations.
