Position Highlights

The R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy, located in Phoenix AZ, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Student Services Coordinator. This position will provide assistance and guidance to students, staff and faculty in all aspects of student services on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus. This position will be the main point of contact for the PharmD students on the Phoenix campus and work closely with leadership, faculty and staff on the Phoenix campus to facilitate and create a positive, healthy educational environment for academic growth and success. The Student Services Coordinator will manage academic administrative matters such as registration and class schedule and administer programs and initiatives, from recruitment to graduation, to support students throughout their experience. This position will serve as a liaison between the campus and Student Services, and between the College and other University and community constituents.

May require some evening/weekend work and travel to Tucson. Flexible schedule available based on academic and student needs.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Guide, advise, and support students through personal and professional development including academic advising, learning, relationship, and social skills, personal concerns and crises.
  • Promote and assure compliance with the College Code of Professionalism and Academic Progression Policy.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for university, college, and industry policies and practices.
  • Provide input to college and campus committees to develop policies, standards, and processes.
  • Plan and administer academic matters including class schedules, registration, and classroom scheduling; work with various departments across campuses to coordinate resources.
  • Collaborate with faculty, Director of Student Services, Phoenix IT Instructional Support and Phoenix Program Coordinator to support classroom technology, distance campus teaching, and exam/test needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Phoenix campus associate dean, faculty and staff and Office of Student Services to support academic growth and success.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of student wellness and leadership programs and activities to enhance personal, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Co-advisor for Student Council and Phoenix student leaders (VP of Phoenix, class representatives, liaisons, and members).
  • Co-coordinate in the leadership certificate program.
  • Develop activities for student engagement for Phoenix campus.
  • Plan and coordinate Phoenix campus events such as Phoenix Orientation events and QI poster presentations.
  • Assist in coordination of PharmD recruitment and interviews and new student open house.
  • Serve as a cohesive member of the Student Services team and assist members as needed, including special college events participation and providing campus tours to prospective students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, licensing requirements and industry standards in the pharmacy career field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Ability to empathize and coach diverse students in the pharmacy/health profession.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching or student advising experience preferred.
