The Human Ecology Office of Registrar is the College's main record keeper. We support students, faculty and staff by helping undergraduates understand and complete requirements for graduation. Our office exists independently from the University Registrar but is guided by its mandates concerning confidentiality, accuracy, and security.
The Opportunity
- Integral Enrollment Support: Drive student success and academic excellence as a vital part of the College of Human Ecology's registrar function.
- Compliance Champion: Ensure adherence to FERPA and Federal Title IV Financial Aid regulations, safeguarding student privacy and rights.
- Tech-Savvy Record Keeper: Utilize a suite of computer applications with precision and confidentiality to maintain accurate student records.
- Welcoming Frontline Presence: Serve as the warm and professional face of the college, efficiently guiding inquiries to appropriate channels.
- Registrar's Office Ambassador: Support partner program initiatives by assisting with record keeping, budget management, and curriculum development, while also disseminating accurate information regarding student records in alignment with university, college, and office policies, handling the preparation and distribution of acceptance and promotional packages to partner schools.
- Global Education Advocate: Empower international initiatives by managing web pages, administrative tasks, and partnership development.
- Enrollment Expertise: Facilitate course enrollment, grading, and record management, essential for student success.
- Confidentiality and Integrity: Uphold the highest standards in handling student records, ensuring compliance with policies.
- Collaborative Enrollment Efforts: Partner with colleagues across Cornell to achieve university-wide enrollment objectives.

Hours and Location
The core business hours for the Registrar's Office are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday and Friday 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This hybrid position can be performed with 2 days remote, and 3 days on Cornell's Ithaca campus in Martha Van Rensselaer Hall. Remote workdays will be determined by your supervisor, and based on the business needs of the Registrar's Office.
What We Need

- Formal training beyond high school of six to twelve months and two to four years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency using word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Proficient in using and formatting word processing, spreadsheet, and database packages. Familiarity with mainframe computers.
- Incumbent needs to understand and apply College/School/University policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to manage competing priorities simultaneously while handling constant interruptions, ensuring accuracy, and paying close attention to detail.

- Familiarity with PeopleSoft and computers connected to a central host.
- Ability to analyze/evaluate/investigate technical issues with software applications to assist faculty/staff/students with troubleshooting issues they may be experiencing with the various systems they interact with.
