Student Research Farm Assistant

FAES | Research Operations Administration-JM

Assists with agricultural research station operations to establish and maintain research projects. Assists research station staff with research field operations to establish, maintain and harvest crops and layout research plots.  Assists research station staff with livestock husbandry and animal care.  Assists with grounds and facilities maintenance, fence repairs, and equipment repairs. Operates various machinery related to tasks. Responsibilities are moderately technical or complex and have a high degree of responsibility and judgment. Assists with research related data and sample collection, record keeping  and computer data entry. Student(s) needs to demonstrate excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, ability to work in a professional environment. Ability to work with and communicate effectively to direct activities to other students’ employees. Requires significant amount of specialized training or experience. Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values. 

Additional Information:

Operates agricultural machinery including mowers and grounds equipment; cleans and maintains work areas and other duties as assigned.
