Job Description Summary
The student research assistant in the Earth Systems Science and Data Solutions Lab (ESSDS) provides crucial support in research and creative endeavors that align with the lab’s mission, under the direct guidance of a faculty member. This role involves collecting and analyzing environmental data, conducting comprehensive literature reviews pertinent to earth systems science, and managing data entry and organization. The assistant participates in shaping research design and methodology specific to earth systems challenges and contributes significantly in preparing detailed research reports and presentations. By engaging in this role, students enhance their analytical and communication skills, and gain proficiency in organizing complex scientific data, all of which are vital in the field of earth systems science. Please note the position is for 3 hours per week.
Responsibilities
· Develops work plans in accordance with research objectives.
· Assists in the collection of data specific to the assignment.
· Assist with data entry and organization.
· Contribute to the research design and methodology.
· Prepare research reports and presentations.
· Maintain organized records of research materials and data.
· Adhere to ethical guidelines and protocols in research activities.
Required Qualifications
· Currently enrolled in a program to obtain a bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, and environmental science.
· Sufficient knowledge of programming
· Solid organizational skills and the ability to work accurately with a large amount of data.
