The Department of Chemistry at EKU is housed in the state-of-the-art Science Building. Our teaching, laboratory, and research spaces provide students with the ability to learn how to work with equipment and instruments commonly used in chemical research and industry. Students who wish to become involved in research will find our faculty eager to prepare them for entering both the field of professional chemistry or pursuing graduate-level studies. The department also provides service to the University community, to the chemical profession and to the larger society, and is committed to engaging in scholarly activities on fundamental and applied problems in chemistry and chemical education.

 

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Forensic Science program in the Department of Chemistry at EKU is seeking 2 Student Research Assistants, beginning this Spring 2024 semester. The assistants will work under the supervision of Dr. Jamie Fredericks in a laboratory environment conducting research for a grant project.
The Student Work Study position is for 15 hours per week at $12.00 per hour for the Spring semester. Successful candidates must be enrolled full time at EKU and qualify for Federal or Institutional Work Study. Forensic Science and/or Chemistry majors are encouraged to apply.
