Job Description

The Language Learning Center (LLC) is a computer lab that serves the needs of the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics (MLLL). The LLC provides language placement testing services, foreign language books, films, and games, and also provides first-response technical support for the department. The LLC is offering a position as student specialist in programming. This position will involve maintaining web and desktop applications, databases, and reports. The position also involves interfacing with students and faculty on a daily basis.


Job Duties:

  • Maintain websites for MLLL and LLC 
  • Maintain optimal performance of desktop and web applications 
  • Manage databases and reports 
  • Manage video streaming capabilities; prepare and upload video content
  • Assist students with placement tests and language assessment procedures
  • Assist faculty and staff with technical requests
  • Work closely with other LLC staff to complete larger projects 
  • Maintain a clean and professional atmosphere 
  • Manage reservations of communal spaces 
  • Other duties as assigned

This position will be required to work during the spring semester, preferably 12-20 hours. 

Interview:

If selected for an interview, you may be asked to write a solution to a simple programming question on a whiteboard in either pseudo-code or a programming language of your choice.

Required Education:  Must be currently enrolled in the Spring Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

  • Must attach Spring 2024 class schedule.
