Job Description


We have an opening for a Student Program Coordinator I in the Department of Surgery . This position provides  highly skilled administrative support to our student clerkship and vascular fellowship programs. 

Overall, this position coordinates a student program by planning the program, coordinating activities and projects, distributing information, communicating, troubleshooting, preparing reports, collecting and maintaining data, attending meetings, etc.

We're looking for someone with a Bachelors degree and at least one yr of experience who is highly proficient on Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel. You must be able to work in a busy academic environment and handle multiple schedules, projects and deadlines.  This position requires an individual with a strong initiative for problem solving who can multitask and deal with stressful situations.

Job Requirements

Education:  Bachelors Degree in related field. Will accept 48 months of closely equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Experience: Minimum 12 months experience in higher education, student services, or upper level administrative support.


Required Skills: 

-Must be highly proficient  with Microsoft Office programs: Office, Outlook, and Excel.

-Must have the ability to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer.

-Must be detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.

-You must be highly organized and able to handle multiple staff schedules, projects and deadlines.

-This position requires the ability to produce reports and complete work within time deadlines. 

-Must have effective communication skills and be able to work successfully  in a team situation with a diverse group of faculty and  other  staff.  

-This position requires multitasking and the ability to deal with stressful situations.

-You must display a strong initiative to solve problems.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

Standard administrative office environment and exposure, including keyboarding.  Up to 25% of this position will require mobility

(moving from one room or building to another; etc.)
