The Student Office Assistant serves as an assistant for the Office of Admissions and Recruitment in Admissions Operations. This position will handle a high volume of telephone calls, and walk-in guests, as well as direct students, staff, and visitors to proper locations on campus, provide quality hospitality, and perform other clerical duties as time allows. These other clerical duties may include answering emails, preparing & sending out mail for early outreach efforts, sorting mail to match to student files, preparing admission boxes, data input, and other duties as assigned. 

We are currently looking for new student employees in our office to serve as Student Office Assistants for the 2024 - 2025 Academic Year, with the flexibility to work in the summer or have the first shift in the fall. 


Work Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday, between hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm
  • Average of 10-15 hours a week
  • Scheduled around your class schedule
  • 2-3 required Saturdays per year

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in as a student in a combination of two terms at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.


  • Must attach a Spring, Summer, or Fall 2024 class schedule.

  • Applicants should have excellent customer service skills.
  • Applicants should be flexible to adapt in various situations and be able to quickly think on their feet.  

  • Applicants need to have a high attention to detail. 

  • Applicants should have effective communication skills (verbal & written). 

  • Applicants need to be highly motivated, organized, timely, welcoming, and familiar with the OU campus and resources. 

  • Applicants should have basic math & computer skills.
