Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
The Special Collections & Archives Division of the Leatherby Libraries seeks a motivated graduate or undergraduate student for part-time employment assisting the University Archivist, Coordinator of Special Collections, Archivist, and Special Collections & Archives Assistants in their day-to-day operations. Duties include but are not limited to inventorying collections, organizing, and rehousing archival materials, digitization of archival materials, and other operational tasks or special projects as needed. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities
In addition to general support, duties include:
• inventorying items, labeling, basic preservation (refoldering and rehousing), research, and some writing
• building or breaking down containers
• shifting or paging archival collections
• scanning/digitizing archival materials
• assisting during the occasional public outreach event
• other related duties as assigned
There is a possibility of employment after Spring 2024.
Required Qualifications
Beyond research skills, the student employee must be detail-oriented, able to perform tasks independently, and write neatly.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates studying history, or a related subject, preferred.
