We have exciting opportunities for our OU students at Bizzell Memorial Library! You’ll have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge base and take on new challenges. As an Outreach Student Assistant for the User Services Team, you will assist in supporting OU Libraries' events and programming by contributing to increased library engagement with the campus community. You will gain valuable experience working with library staff and faculty during outreach events and programming, and by connecting customers to OU Libraries' resources and services. The Student Success Team welcomes the culturally diverse population of the OU community to Bizzell Memorial Library.

Job Duties:
- Assists with connecting customers to resources and services by roving Bizzell Memorial Library.
- Assists in preparation and hosting of events held in Bizzell Memorial Library.
- Conducts routine library assessment to ensure all areas of the library remain aesthetically pleasing and will do general labor as instructed.
- Provides IT/AV support for classes, meetings and special events held in Bizzell Memorial Library.
- Provides staff presence in library's Consultation Space.
- Manage multiple priorities during a shift.

Job Requirements

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in the Spring term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
- Must attach SPRING 2024 class schedule
- Must attach off campus work schedule if applicable.
Skills:
- Posses effective communication, interpersonal, and listening skills that support interaction with faculty, students, researchers and co-workers.
- Strong service orientation and the ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to work in technology rich environment.
- Possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Regular bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, standing for extended periods, frequent computer use, and at times, heavy lifting.
Department Preferences:
- Previous experience in customer service.
- Able to work independently without close supervision.
- Proactive in seeking out and finding appropriate solutions for problems.
- Good interpersonal communications skills.
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Mac OS.
