The College of Law is currently seeking a IT Technical Assistant to join their team.

Duties to include:

  • Provide timely and effective multimedia support to end-users in classrooms and other learning spaces.
  • Demonstrate functionality of multimedia equipment to faculty, staff, students and event sponsors.
  • Monitor video conferences to ensure that all sites are connected with proper audio, video and content. Monitor scheduled lecture captures to ensure all sources are present and properly recorded.
  • Work closely with Field Technicians to quickly resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Ensure that maintenance and repair issues are reported immediately and work with Engineers to provide timely resolution. Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance of multimedia systems to ensure all equipment is fully functional.
  • Complete PowerPoint training.

  • Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.

Student Assistant

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters. 

During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.

Upon graduating, student employment must end.

Hours will vary according to class schedule and department needs. The ability to work some late nights and weekends is expected.

 

 

$10.00 per hour
