Performs routine cleaning in offices and public access areas within OU Residential communities. Tasks are precisely defined.
Saturday and Sunday are required shifts, with additional shifts available if preferred during weekdays.
Job Duties:
- Mops, sweeps, waxes, and polishes floors.
- Cleans and dusts furniture, equipment, etc.
- May locks and unlock offices, classrooms, and conference areas.
- Contacts with others are of a routine nature.
- Collects and disposes of wastepaper and refuse.
- Vacuums carpeted areas where applicable.
- Maintains lavatories and rest rooms in a sanitary condition.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in a combination of two terms as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
Must attach Spring, Summer or Fall 2024 ONE class schedule.
Skills:
Must have good customer service skills.
Must be able to work multiple variable shifts.
Must be able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with visitors, members, students and staff.
Must practice effective time management skills.
Must have the ability to multi-task.
Must be able to work in a collaborative/team environment.
Must have a strong work ethic.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Perseverance, both physically and mentally, for fast-paced and demanding responsibilities required.
- Exposure to disagreeable conditions such as handling greasy, dirty materials, walking on slippery floors, walking or riding between buildings on campus, etc.
- Frequent and repetitive arm and wrist movement.
- Exposure to chemicals and odors.
- Ability to lift objects up to 55 lbs, and push/pull up to 100 lbs, depending on job assignment.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and adapt to a large environment with varying temperatures.
- Climb stairs, as necessary, and depending on job assignment, occasionally to frequently. This will be determined by employee's assignment.
- You may be required to work during University closings.
Department Preferences:
- Any previous customer-service experience.
- Any previous professional cleaning, custodial or housekeeping experience.
- A current and valid driver's license to travel between assigned residential communities as necessary.
