Summary
The Ray lab at Baylor College of Medicine has an immediate opening for biotech research device development and production. The Ray lab studies the neural circuits governing our behavior and physiology. A major goal in the lab is to automate our assays for measuring behavior and physiology in our genetic animal models for enhanced accuracy and consistency as well as increasing capacity for data collection. Our studies are currently focused on understanding the mechanisms driving neurological vulnerabilities in infant congenital disorders such as the sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Job Duties
- The projects utilize a wide variety of approaches including CAD/CAM software, 3D printing and CNC milling, micro-boards including Arduino and PI with custom written software in Python and Matlab.
- We are seeking energetic individuals that want to make a difference by contributing to the design and construction of automated biotech research devices and assays.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- 3D design
- CAD in Solidworks
- 3D Printing
- CNC Milling Electrical engineering
- Robotics Micro-boards
- Arduino and Raspberry Pi
