Job Summary/Responsibilities
  • The position assists with trash and debris removal from all Housing Areas.
  • Sweeping sidewalks and courtyards.
  • Making minor repairs
  • Preforming custodial duties such as mopping, dusting, sweeping, and trash removal
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Must be a current UNF student.
This position requires and ability to quickly learn methods of repair. Must possess good communication skills, be flexible with a variety of assignments, and must be able to exercise good judgment. Familiarity with the residence halls’ facilities and operations will be a necessity. Experience working within a customer service oriented environment is necessary. The student maintenance assistant must be able to maintain a professional attitude, be friendly and congenial, and promote departmental and university policies that represent the University of North Florida and the Department of Housing and Residence Life. The applicant will use diplomacy while working with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using hand tools and hand held power tools preferred. Willingness to learn new skills.
