Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
The student graphic designer position at Wilkinson College of Art, Humanities, and Social Sciences will use their creative and technical talents to create and develop visual material for various marketing and communication goals, as directed by the Dean’s Senior Administrative Assistant. The student graphic designer will work with the Wilkinson Dean’s Office Graphic Design team to develop visually appealing content that is consistent with the college’s identity and objectives. The graphic designer will provide support for the marketing for college wide events such as the Engaging the World series and the annual report. Students employed in this position can expect to develop skills in design and will develop a robust professional portfolio.
Responsibilities
  • Create visually appealing and innovative designs for print and digital media, including brochures, flyers, social media graphics, and website elements.
  • Collaborate with the Graphic Design team to develop design concepts and strategies that effectively communicate the college’s message. 
  • Use graphic design software and tools to manipulate and enhance images, create illustrations, and design layouts. 
  • Ensure all design materials adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity. 
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications
Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator). 
  • Team Orientation & Interpersonal – highly motivated team player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the Dean’s staff. 
  • Proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs. 
  • Professional, dependable, organized, able to multi-task, ability to collaborate. 
  • Able to effectively handle confidential and proprietary information. 
  • Effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner using preferred method and level as applicable to the job. 
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail.
