Position Summary
The College of Engineering (COE) is looking for a student with design experience to join our team. They will collaborate closely with our design team, and the wider marketing and communications Team, on a range of UX/UI, marketing, and print design projects.
 
We’re looking for someone who is excited to learn and collaborate and not afraid to ask questions, someone who is excited to expand their skillset by working on a variety of projects, including marketing design, both digital and print, UX/UI design for the website, illustration, and motion graphics. They will gain experience working with developers in an iterative product development process, and help create responsive design- and user-focused digital experiences for our COE web presence.
 
This will be a part-time, hourly position (maximum of 24 hours per week) as a Graphic Designer at Oregon State University COE.

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
 OSU enrolled students only – full-time grad or undergrad
 Experience in design – whether in an academic setting or professional, in any combination of       print, marketing, UX/UI – and an interest in building skills in wide range of design areas
  Experience with design programs such as Figma, the Adobe Creative Suite
  Attention to detail
  Good interpersonal and communication skills
  Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
     Experience with UX/UI design, marketing, and print design
     Familiarity with the OSU brand guidelines
     Experience with illustration, motion graphics, or animation
