The Wellness & Recreation Services (WRC)-Campus Recreation department is currently seeking a Student Facility Operations Assistant  to join their team of professionals.

Duties include:

  • Always provide premiere customer service.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of locker rooms, training rooms, floors, mats, windows, doors, ledges, garbage bins of all indoor and outdoor areas/fields/courts.
  • Assist Building Supervisor in reporting and documentation of all injuries, incidents, or damaged equipment.
  • Complete regular daily detailing of all fitness equipment and continuously re-racking weights.
  • Responsible for communicating policy violations to all patrons not in compliance in the WRC.
  • Assist supervisors with room/event setups and breakdowns.
  • Knowledgeable of cleaning supplies uses and equipment to perform the work assignments.
  • Knowledgeable of WRC and University policies and procedures for emergency management.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally through two-way radio with all co-workers and supervisors.
  • Responsible for turning in all lost and found items to the appropriate lost & found location
  • Assist with enforcing evacuation procedures in the event of any fire alarms and/or emergencies.
  • Maintain constant communications with supervisor and respective administrators.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Other duties may be assigned by supervisors.
  • Communicate any operations or personnel issues to appropriate professional staff if necessary.
  • Flexible schedule between 5:45AM-11:00PM.
  • Obtain a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification upon being hired.
  • Ability to attend all mandatory departmental trainings and meetings.

 

Student Assistant

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters. 
  • During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
  • Upon graduating, student employment must end.
  • Flexible schedule between 5:45AM-11:00PM based on student's class schedule and  departmental availability.
  • 20 hours a week.

$12.00/hour

 

This student appointment may be subjected to a pre-employment background check.
