Student Employment Coordinator
Human Resources
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary
As a critical member of the Human Resources and Institutional Equity, Student Employment team, the Student Employment Coordinator provides high quality customer service to all constituents while performing a variety of complex administrative duties. The primary duties include processing new hire assignments for students, assisting departments with hiring processes, and coordinating and overseeing the I-9 E-Verification Process. Coordinates, facilitates, reviews and updates content of the New Student Employee Orientation program, provides Handshake Employer support, and Student Hiring Manager training.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with individuals at all levels within the organization, both internal and external to Human Resources.
• Excellent public speaking and group facilitation skills. 
• Excellent computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software applications.
• Ability to work independently in the performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
• Ability to serve as a positive, contributing member of the Human Resources Student Employment team.
• Ability to prioritize and remain flexible in the performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree and one year clerical/office administrative experience
• Or
• High School Diploma/Equivalent and two years’ administrative office experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Human Resources experience.
• Work experience in a higher education setting.
• Training or teaching experience.
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 24.
