This student worker position will add to the Sculpture wood/metal shops by monitoring the space to extend the Open Shop Hours for students currently enrolls in SoVA courses. The student will be trained on the equipment to be able to offer safety support to students working in the shot. They will check that all students working in the shop have completed the safety training and have a current waiver and safety procedure form on file. They will also work with the faculty and graduate students in Sculpture to help with basic maintenance and regular clean-up, as well as maintain shop utilization records.

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in the SPRING term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.


  • Must attach Spring ONE class schedule.
  • Sophomore or higher in standing.
  • Must be currently enrolled in 12 hours for the Spring 2024 Term 

Skills:



  •  Knowledge of shop tools and willingness to learn more tools and tool basic maintenance
  • Must be able to demonstrate best practices for safety
  • Ability to remind users of the shop to clean-up and return tools as well as the ability to close up the shop with a final clean-up 

    Department Preferences:

    •  Experience in Sculptures classes and familiarity with wood and/or metal equipment
