Job Description

Temporary Position For Summer 2024: June 3, 2024-July 12, 2024. 

Job Duties: (The omission of specific statement of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.)

  • Strictly enforce and practice the code of conduct for all Upward Bound staff.
  • Advise, supervise, and counsel high school students.
  • Live in the residence halls with students and be responsible for directing and operating nightly activities.
  • Serve as exceptional mentors and role-models to students.
  • Perform conflict resolution and counseling on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain and complete student documentation of attendance and submit all reports prior to the end of the program.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot students and report safety concerns.
  • Attend events where students and parents are present.
  • Set up and supervise events as needed.
  • Provide leadership for student in preparing for their days in a healthy, hygienic manner.
  • Participate in end of program achievement awards reception.

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status. Majoring in specific area or related field

  • Must attach Spring, Summer and/or Fall 2024 class schedules 

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions; grasp objects with fingers and/or hands, speak, including with others; see, including color, depth perception and clarity. 

Department Preferences:

  • Experience working in Summer Camp environments
  • Experience working with diverse and underprivileged youth
  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student at OU
