The College of International Studies is seeking to hire students to fill the Office Assistant position at the Rooney Family Center (RFC) in Arezzo, Italy for SPRING 2023. The OU in Arezzo (OUA) semester position is a part-time, short-term job offered to students currently enrolled in a semester-long OUA program. Selected students will be scheduled for a maximum of 15 hours per week. 


Compensation and General Information:

  • $9.00/hour, directly deposited into a U.S. bank account
  • 5-15 hours/week; hours based on academic schedule and preferences
  • Nights (until 12 midnight) and weekend shifts will be scheduled
  • Directly supervised by the Residence Life Coordinator, Christiana Datubo-Brown

Responsibilities and Job Duties:


  • Work at the front office/desk space

  • Ensuring the safety of the premises and patrons with security checks and canvasing of the nearby grounds

  • Handling minor emergencies and reporting issues about crisis situations

  • Follow and enforce all procedures and protocols for the prevention of Covid-19 within OUA facilities with all students, staff and guests

  • Maintaining filing systems, databases and records

  • Answering questions and addressing student and visitor concerns
  • Following the procedures for misplaced keys and student lock-outs from their rooms
  • Receiving packages and mail at the RFC and distributing to the students
  • Checking guests in and out of the building
  • Distributing laundry tokens
  • Leading tours of the RFC, as needed
  • Occasionally partnering with local interns to complete projects
  • Aid in preparing, distributing and administering OUA informational packets
  • Assist professors in setting up, troubleshooting and managing classroom equipment
  • Act as a receptionist at the Annex or the RFC
  • Attend organizational meetings related to the position
  • Understand and assist with the risk-prevention and emergency protocols and procedures at OUA facilities
  • Assist with the enforcement of OUA regulations and procedures
  • Complete facility maintenance tasks and light cleaning (taking out trash and recycling, cleaning tables, loading and unloading dishes, mopping the kitchen, etc.)
  • Conduct daily security rounds
  • Complete various projects assigned during shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education: Must be a full-time student enrolled in the SPRING 2023 semester as an OU in Arezzo student and in good standing with the University of Oklahoma (academically and disciplinary); Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

  • Must be a full-time OUA student during the semester and in good standing with the University of Oklahoma

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Must complete all paperwork and trainings (including online) assigned by OU-Norman, CIS and OUA
  • Must have working knowledge of basic social media platforms and experience creating posts and blog entries

 
 

Advertised Physical Requirements:


  • Standard office environment, occasional lifting.


Department Preferences:


  • Exposure to the Italian language is preferred, but not required. 
  • General office/clerical experience
