Summary | Student researcher in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program (preferably Electrical Engineering) of the Engineering Department through funding from Utah System of Higher Education (USHE), Deep Technology Talent Initiative. Will work with Professor Mohammad A. Sherkat Masoum from the Engineering Department on online condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, and reliability prediction of wind turbine blades using artificial intelligence. Maximum of 10 hours per week during Spring 2022 and Summer 2022 semesters with possibility of extension throughout Fall 2023 semester. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | The primary responsibility would be to work with Professor Mohammad A. Sherkat Masoum of Engineering Department on Undergraduate Research in area of automated drone-based system with artificial intelligence training for online condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, and reliability prediction of wind turbine blades. Must have a great interest in signal and image processing, application of artificial intelligence (AI) in renewable energy particularly wind energy. The following skills and abilities are preferred: 1. Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as fuzzy systems and neural networks. 2. Knowledge of signal, image processing, and machine learning. 3. Knowledge of wind power generations. 4. Hands-on experience with the use of sensors and data acquisition. 5. Good grasp of the fundamentals of Electrical and Computer Engineering. 6. Ability to conduct stress analysis and interpret results. |
