POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Student Clinical Coordinator’s (SCC) primary focus is the development and maintenance of relationships with externship sites, placing externs at externship sites that provide an excellent learning environment and maximizing opportunities for extern to hire. Success requires a team approach and collaboration within a peer group of Student Clinical Coordinators, Externship Instructors, and the campus as a whole.
Student Clinical Coordinators arrange externships for all students in all programs with an externship. Provide training and support to externship preceptors. Facilitate excellent communication between site and Instructor, provide externship orientation, and assistance in completing all necessary paperwork prior to the start of externships.
This position reports directly to the Director of Career Services but may require day-to-day interactions with Chief Academic Officer, Campus Manager(s), Program Manager(s), Faculty, Registrar, Student Academic Advisors, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
Current Students and Externs
· Establish and maintain relationships with Externship Sites sufficient in numbers to meet the needs of the campus’ extern population
· Coordinate timely placement of externs in facilities that meet the educational requirements of the respective program’s externship course
· Maintain externship files for both sites and students in Campus Nexus
· Assist in administering contracts, insurance certificates and other documents for externship
· Maximize and track externship to hire rates of campus and sites.
· Work with the Externship Instructors to ensure the best educational experience for Charter College students while on externship
· Assist students with preparation and revision of externship documents (Resumes, Cover Letters, Applications, Immunizations, etc.)
· Serve as liaison between student, Externship Instructor, and the externship site.
· Develop and maintain relationships extern sites for the purposes of externship leads
· Request, gather and collate feedback on performance and satisfaction levels from sites and students via surveys
· Maintain externship site database (Campus Nexus)
· Support Program Advisory Committee Meetings in partnership with the Program Managers and Faculty by securing and tracking community participation
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
· 2 years experience in customer service or medical records required
· Exceptional organizational skills required
· Microsoft Office experience is required: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
· Must possess exceptional social interaction skills
· Must display a team-oriented approach
· Must be professional in all aspects of the position including professional dress and appearance, demeanor, and attitude
· Consistently display the highest levels of integrity
· Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work flexible schedule
· Sales experience a plus
COMPENSATION:
· Non-Exempt Status Hourly
· Wage Range: $17.55 - $22.15
· Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge and education level
