Job Description:

The Department of Media Production, Management, and Technology in the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida is currently seeking students to assist with clerical office support.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Shifts will be determined for each student depending on their class schedule for a maximum of 20 hours per week. Job duties will include: 

  • Working with the department chair, associate chair, administrative assistant, and faculty to accomplish a range of administrative duties.
  • Social media: helping manage the department’s social media accounts and creating promotional content and graphics 
  • Event planning: supporting with preparation for MPMT annual advisory council meetings, guest speakers, and other events
  • Promotion: creating flyers and other promotional materials for events, programs and other MPMT-related offerings
  • Customer service: answering phones, voicemail, routing calls appropriately, filing documents as needed, answering questions related to the Department of Media Production, Management, and Technology, helping manage mobile kits check-outs/returns spreadsheet
  • Other duties as assigned 
Expected Salary:

$13/hr

Minimum Requirements:

Must be a current UF MPMT student and have completed RTV2100, be well-organized and have good communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Federal Work Study permit
  • Graphic design experience (Canva, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Experience with creating and editing videos
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrate customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as follow verbal and written instructions
  • Demonstrate professional etiquette at all times
