The Ohio State University college of Dentistry seeks a Student Assistant to support its Academic Affairs unit. This is a part-time position of up to 20 hours per week. The Office of Academic Affairs provides a variety of services for faculty members and students in the College of Dentistry. The Office of Academic Affairs and its programs and staff members also support the College’s mission of educating dental professionals who are prepared to meet the oral health care needs of the citizens of Ohio and the nation. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a talented and committed up and coming professional, whose skills and attitude compliment a dynamic, collegial team.

The Student Assistant provides administrative support and assistance to the Academic Affairs staff. This may include maintaining files; assembling mass mailings, copying, collating and/or stapling materials; performing data entry and preparing data for analysis; preparing graphs and charts; transcription, reception duties; assisting with planning and preparing college events and maintaining supplies.

Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm varies per student schedule.

The ability to focus on a specific task for a duration of time is necessary.  This position is not open to prospective predoctoral students. 

Required: HS Graduate or Equivalent or equivalent educ/exp.

Desired: Previous office/administrative work experience and customer service experience preferred.


Additional Information:

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire.

Candidates may request a medical or religious exemption from the vaccination requirement. Campus employees may also request an exemption for personal reasons. Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine or OSUP Employees are not eligible for personal exemptions. All exemptions are subject to Ohio State’s approval and subject to change, including revocation, due to legal and regulatory requirements.

The Targeted Hiring Rate for this position is $10.10/hour.
