This position is on our Norman campus.  

Student Assistant to School of Social Work faculty member. Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct student hour/supervision audits for all cohorts for Norman campuses. 
  • Data entry of agency/field instructor information from Qualtrics software to IPT software. 
  • Practicum course document editing.
  • Tasks assigned by Field Education Coordinator as needed.
  • Tasks assigned by Field Education Support Specialist as needed.

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in a combination of two terms as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.


  • Must attach Spring, Summer, and/or Fall 2024 class schedule.

Skills:


  • Above average computer proficiency in Microsoft Windows, including emails, distribution lists, manage files in MS Office, conduct internet searches for faculty on research Projects, periodical reviews, etc.
  • Experience with research and research-related software desired. 
  • Must be flexible in terms of working on differing tasks for various faculty needs. 
  • Student must be in good academic standing within the academic program. 
  • Represent the program and the ethics of the SSW with a courteous and helpful orientation toward potential students, other students, the staff, and faculty. 
  • Work out a schedule that is flexible in accordance to your student responsibilities, yet one that the other members of the team can depend upon for work planning purposes. 
  • Ability to take initiative to ask for assignments while knowing when to seek guidance for further instructions in a timely manner to meet deadlines. 
  • Be willing to fill in for other staff when asked to help with the overall operation of the program.
  • Work independently on projects without requiring constant supervision once the instructions are clear. 
  • Ability to take a professional perspective toward corrective criticism as an opportunity for additional skill development. 
  • A commitment to social justice and solid grounding in social work values and ethic.

  • Senior currently in the OU Norman BASW program
  • Intend on entering the OU Norman MSW program after graduation and interest in becoming a Graduate Research Assistant
