Position Summary:


Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the department of Neuroscience & Cell Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under direction, performs and assists with laboratory procedures and analyses in support of specialized research activities of the laboratory.  Research focuses on gene and growth factor regulation of neurogenesis during mammalian brain development. 
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Assist lab workers as required.
  • Assist with animal husbandry and maintenance of mice.
  • Organize lab resources and assist in the set up and conducting of experiments as required. 
  • Read relevant neurodevelopmental literature. 
  • Handle additional related responsibilities as assigned by the Principal Investigator. 

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Completion of undergraduate/graduate degree, or currently enrolled in undergraduate/graduate studies at Rutgers University, with laboratory experience in the biomedical science field.

Equipment Utilized:

  • Equipment specific to a N&CB laboratory.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: Sitting, standing.  No special vision required. 
  • Work Environment: Laboratory environment with moderate noise. 

Salary: $15.13/hour
