Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
Our group focuses on multidisciplinary areas of optics and photonics as well as quantum information science and technology and quantum optics. We investigate new phenomena and their physical dynamics in the scattering of classical and quantum fields from disordered and complex media. Student researchers will be involved in different aspects of the projects including numerical and computational level to hands-on experimental work.
Responsibilities
  • Writing codes (C++, Python, MATLAB) and running simulations related to modeling complex disordered structures, troubleshooting and refining codes
  • Working with the advisor in analyzing the results and actively working on progressing the project
  • Working with other students and researchers in the group
  • Maintaining weekly meetings with the advisor to discuss progress
  • Required Qualifications
  • Chapman undergraduate student or 4+1 student
  • Interest in projects at the intersection of physics and engineering
  • Programming background in one of the following: C++, Python, MATLAB
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Good writing and presentation skills
  • Responsible and organized
  • Desired Qualifications
  • Background in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, and/or computer engineering
  • Availability to work consistently for 10+ hours per week
