The Access Services department of Georgia College's Library oversees visitor access to materials and information. We are the front line for assistance and directing visitors to various service areas based upon their needs. Student Assistants in Access Services assist in the access and maintenance of GC Library collections; GIL Express process; security and facility checks; service questions and directions; and circulation desk duties.
The successful applicant will work a Monday-Friday schedule, with the possibility of working some weekend or nighttime hours and the expectation of extended hours during midterms and finals. Fall and Spring semester hours:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00AM-1:00AM
Friday: 8:00AM-6:00PM
Saturday: 10AM-6:00PM
Sunday: Noon-1:00AM

Customer Service patron interaction and assistance - 60%
Students will interact with visitors, guests, and the Georgia College Circulation desk.

Daily Tasks - 40%
Students will perform daily tasks like shelving books, preparing GIL and ILL items, and statistics checks.

 

Educational Requirements
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
Other Required Qualifications
Student enrolled in at least six credit hours as an undergraduate student at Georgia College.
Must have working knowledge of general office practices and duties.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Possess outstanding customer service skills.
Must be proactive and able to engage with a diverse constituency.
