Since 1965, The Ohio State University Upward Bound Program has been instrumental in helping Columbus City high school students achieve their goals. Federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Upward Bound offers students the opportunity to excel not only in high school, but also in college and beyond.

  • Build a maintain rapport with students across multiple digital platforms
  • Relay student-related issues and concerns first to the Academic Counselor
  • Clarify and implement Upward Bound rules, policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain virtual communication with Upward Bound participants and staff
  • Model behavior that results in establishing and maintaining positive, respectful mentor relationships with students
  • Maintain active involvement in ALL project activities for the duration of Summer Program
  • Monitor student on-line behavior during chat sessions
  • Conduct, when necessary, on-line student individual meetings with Administrative staff
  • Provide students with online tutorial services and academic preparation
  • Attend virtual weekly staff meetings
  • Complete student online status reports daily.
  • Maintain daily contact with Academic Specialists via Zoom regarding class attendance, academic issues, and general concerns for students
  • Encourage and inspire students to be academically committed.

Requirements for Position

•This position requires a successful completion of an BCI/FBI background.

•Start Date for this position is 6/10/2024 - End Date: 7/31/24


Additional Information:

The targeted hiring rate is $17.00 per hour
