Student and Alumni Affairs Liaison

The Student and Alumni Affairs Liaison supports programs and services intended to increase APUS community engagement, student success, and retention; to include campus leadership, the university directory, mentoring, student organizations, virtual communities, alumni services/engagement, community outreach, and external collaborations. The Liaison builds relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; and provides clear communication to community members using excellent customer service skills, virtual media platforms, and through various university promotions. Through co-curricular programming and coordinated services, the Student and Alumni Affairs Liaison aids students and alumni in the pursuit of their academic, professional, and personal goals. Reports to Kisha LoBianco, Manager, Student & Alumni Affairs.
Responsibilities:
Daily Operations: Serve as a program administrator and liaison for Student and Alumni Affairs, which may include:
- Campus Leadership initiatives
- University directory platform development
- Student organization administration
- Mentoring and professional development initiatives
- Virtual community administration
- Honors and award programming
- Alumni engagement initiatives, such as:
- Administers alumni communications and campaigns
Leading the Alumni Advisory Council
Supporting and identifying potential partnerships
Attending and/or organizing community events
Alumni organization administration
Coordination of alumni benefits and services
Customer Service: Maintains departmental standards for excellent customer service, to include daily front line service support through phone, email, and various community platforms
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with a variety of University constituents and partners; work to identify and strengthen organizational network
Recruitment: Manages program recruitment efforts in alignment with departmental and University best practices for communications effectiveness; provides data-driven analysis for campaign success; looks for ways to maximize effectiveness and increase memberships
Host: Presents and serves as a moderator for virtual meetings with University constituents and special groups; creates supportive and secure environment to support campus engagement
Resources: Maintains all creative material, resources, handbooks, and web content to ensure material is valid and up to date; partners with internal stakeholders to obtain approvals on new content
Marketing Content Creation: Provides regular content to the Marketing team to keep current and prospective student content channels relevant and up to date; feature campus engagement and community opportunities; highlight community members
Analytics: Provides key data points and/or prepares reports for departmental leadership; assess and share program outcomes on a regular basis
Research: Conducts regular research on industry best practices, benchmarking program attributes and outcomes; proposes improvements as needed
Special Projects: Assists with special projects as needed to enhance the Student and Alumni Affairs Department, to include participation in the annual Commencement events.
