Reporting to the Director of Ph.D. Student Development, this position will support the school’s initiative to develop a new Ph.D. Hub and be tasked with providing high-level administrative and operational support for Tandon’s Ph.D. students. The incumbent will serve as a key source of support in the department’s recruitment, admission, financial aid, and funding processes for the Ph.D. students. The manager will be a key contributor to the design and execution of programming, policies, and processes to support academic progress, retention, milestone tracking, development, and career readiness for all Ph.D. students at Tandon. Critically, this position will design and then manage accurate records and produce dynamic data-driven reports on the doctoral programs. The incumbent will interact with and be responsive to the academic leadership of the various doctoral programs and Tandon’s graduate admissions office, as well as with other university units as needed.



Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in a related, area Doctoral Degree in a related area
Required Experience:
5+ years in higher education/student services or related work
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to represent the Program and School professionally at events. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently, accepting responsibility and accountability for assignments, within a team environment. Ability to balance multiple tasks with competing deadlines, demonstrated ability to pay strict attention to detail, and exercise discretion in handling confidential information. Experience working in a team environment, and the ability to work independently. The ability to interpret and apply standards and communicate complex policies and procedures to students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills; proven leadership ability; and exceptional organizational skills. Familiarity with and appreciation of student and academic affairs, program curriculum and requirements, and administration. Strong computer literacy/proficiency required and the willingness to respond to the needs of prospective and current students and faculty in a technologically oriented society. Proficiency with Google suite of products, MS office (including PowerPoint), publishing software, etc. Must be able to exercise good judgment, diplomacy, and flexibility. Positive, mission-oriented, and forward-thinking attitude.
