Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
Supervise the University Ambassadors, student clubs and organizations, including SGA. Coordinate and supervise entire program of student activities, including SGA and other clubs and organizations. Monitor and make recommendations for student activities budget. Promote wellness resources to students. Assist in planning and coordinating all aspects of New Student Orientation Sessions for Fall and Spring semesters. Develop and recommend orientation budget. Evaluate the orientation process by conducting an orientation survey. Supervise the Student Lounge Area in the 311 Main St. Building and the Student Activity Center (Truluck Gym). Monitor recreation area of 311 Main St. (pool tables, ping pong tables, video game rooms). Monitor weight lifting area and basketball gym. With the help of Student Ambassadors, assist incoming students at orientation and registration with setting up Self-Service Carolina accounts, Blackboard accounts, DUO Mobile security accounts, and navigating Self-Service Carolina to register for classes, pay bills, and accept financial aid awards. Assist with on campus recruiting events as needed such as Open House or Admitted Students Day. Provide campus tours as necessary, with help of student ambassadors.Revise and update the student handbook and assist with the maintenance of information for the Student Life section of the USC Union Webpage. Assist with special campus events as needed and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 1 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. The hours of this position vary and will require evening and weekend work. Travel in and out of town is required. Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading student groups at the collegiate level, familiarity with event coordination, and proven and successful event marketing capabilities. 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Customer service focused, strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to implement programs that will benefit the campus community.
