Under the direction of the Director of Student Life and Leadership, the Student Activities and Engagement Assistant participates in a variety of duties in the operation of the Student Activities Center and Student Life and Leadership department. The primary goal of this position is to aid and support the Office of Student Life and Leadership. The position requires the ability to provide excellent customer service, technical, and administrative assistance to faculty, students and staff. This position also requires the answering of questions in person, email, and via telephone calls. The Student Activities and Engagement Assistant will help plan and facilitate student activity programs including educational, recreational, and entertainment activities. This position will also assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for student activities.

Available to work between 8:30AM  7:00PM Monday-Thursday and 8:30AM-12:30PM Friday

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Promote and stimulate program participation
  • Assistance to students, SGA and other clubs and organizations
  • Lead a variety of activities and programs for students
  • Participate in special programs and/ or events.
  • Develop and implements activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Program Director or Unit lead
  • Manage and route phone calls appropriately 
  • Process and report on office expenses 
  • Maintain physical and digital employee records 
  • Schedule in-house and external meetings 
  • Distribute incoming mail 
  • Manage and order office supplies 
  • Make travel arrangements 
  • Organize company documents into updated filing systems 
  • Address employees and clients queries (via email, phone or in-person) 
  • Prepare presentations, spreadsheets and reports 
  • Update office policies as needed 

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
