The assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and problem resolution to students and their families as well as faculty and staff.  In effect, this position is one of NYU Shanghai’s “front doors” in that students’ and parents’ perception of NYU Shanghai is frequently shaped by interactions with Counselors. Interactions are via email, phone and face-to-face.

 

The main responsibilities include:

  • Provide customer service assistance to students by Service Link, Phone calls and in-person service;
  • Respond to general questions and resolve routine problems; refer specific requests to appropriate staff membersguide students on how to view their bill and make the payment; provide students who have financial problems the payment plan option and track their payment status;
  • Monitor student billing and make sure the student's account is properly updated in the Student Information System;
  • Maintain and update the student’s details report with the comments of the student's billing, payment and refunds;
  • Prepare the weekly report to track the completion of tuition payments;
  • Prepare and send the notification regarding the bill, payment and refunds via Email and WeChat to students;
  • Responsible for updating the information on the official website;
  • Keep organized books of tuition fees and files of receipts;
  • Support and collaborate with other Bursar colleagues to resolve the billing, payment and refund related issues;
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required.


Required Education

  • Bachelor Degree or above.

Required Experience

  • Work experience in Finance and Accounting in an international education institute is preferred. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of accounting and accounts receivable principles, methodology, and practices;
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures;
  • Good communication in English and Mandarin;
  • Proficient PC skills (Excel, Word, PPT, PDF).
