As the student account specialist, you will be responsible for posting charges, payments, and refunds to student accounts, addressing issues raised through the student account email inbox, communicating with various SCAD offices, and assisting with mail processing. In this position you will be expected to monitor unclaimed funds and credit balances and un-cashed check reports on a weekly basis, ensuring the proper protocol is followed with each. It will be your responsibility to ensure all federal regulations are followed with all transactions. You will act as a liaison with other SCAD offices to post adjustments to students' accounts.

As the account specialist, part of your duties will include administering student accounts for students participating in special programs and entering Title IV authorization forms into student account information in Banner. Daily responsibilities will include interacting with office visitors at the front desk by answering their questions, assisting them with concerns, and referring them to the appropriate individual when you are not able to address their issue. Additionally, you will participate in special events and in evening and weekend work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:     

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with customer service, cashiering, and financial aid
  • Excellent mathematical, accounting, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Must pay attention to details

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Banner, TouchNet, and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with accounts receivable

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
