Job Title: Student Account Specialist

Reporting Relationship: Assistant Director of Student Accounts Services

Unit: Central Administration

Department: Business Affairs-Central Administration

Campus Location: Wesley Seminary

Summary of Position:    The purpose of this position is to process billing, provide customer service, and manage balances for Wesley Seminary students.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process daily reports for new registration and registration changes 
  • Process term billing 
  • Ensure accurate billing by regularly auditing student accounts for accuracy
  • Contact students as deemed necessary in requesting payments due 
  • Track student accounts throughout their program to ensure timely payments, refunds, or handoff to collection
  • Financially clear students to start classes 
  • Invoice and follow up with corporate partners for payment 
  • Provide timely customer service to students and university departments
  • Assist with back up in the office as needed
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • On occasion, this position may be required to work Saturdays for University events

Education

  • Associates degree preferred or work equivalent in bookkeeping

Experience

  • Bookkeeping experience desired

Required Skills

  • Excellent computer skills with working experience in a variety of applications, especially Excel and web-based programs
  • Ability to relate and interact well with pastors, ministerial students, Seminary faculty/staff, and the IWU community
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance with FERPA laws
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates and minorities are encouraged to apply
