Position Summary
The Student Coordinator works with the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) and Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) to support administrative duties related to students in assigned programs. Additionally, the Coordinator is tasked with supporting course listings, Student Information System (SIS) data, maintain program materials, other curricular and student support supporting the faculty and helping students navigate through the curriculum.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative guidance and support for graduate undergraduate majors and minors in the largest department in the College of Arts and Sciences, which includes meeting with students and providing guidance on curriculum. 
  • Maintain student files, track student completion of program requirements and certification (transcript reviews, curricular requirement tracking, subject-matter verification). Coordinate major declaration process, including meeting with all new students to assign advisors and distribute program requirements. The main point of contact and administrator for degree verification and degree audit systems (SIS and WUAchieve).
  • Coordinator - Independent Research Course, Runs and oversees the entire process – from application development, data collection, and communication with each mentor concerning approval/project requirements to student SIS enrollment process, WUCRSL section creation process, final grade entering and verification.
  • Create and maintain undergraduate and graduate course listings, independent studies, course evaluations/course syllabi for courses. Coordinate waitlist and enrollment limit management. Maintain the placement of courses in classrooms.
  • Coordination of student events, honor programs/societies, workshops, etc., for undergraduate programs. Includes room reservations, set-up, logistics, correspondence, etc.
  • Create and update publications such as bulletins, guides and programs pertaining to the academic programs. Initiate student content on the department’s website.
  • Provide support for study abroad. Distribute information about job and internship opportunities.
  • Attend administrative meetings, course training, quarterly meetings, events, etc., and disseminate as appropriate to department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent written communication skills, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize.
  • Strong commitment to serve the needs of students.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Very experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel and have experience posting data/information on the internet.
  • Strong desire to constantly learn new programs and perform tasks at a high level.


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification and three years relevant experience.

Salary Range
$20.15 - $31.26 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
