Job Summary/Responsibilities | An undergraduate student with the knowledge of civil, structural, and transportation engineering to oversee the experimental setup of a 10’ long reinforced concrete slab and collect data during load testing. Responsibilities: 1. Overseeing the casting of a three 10’ long reinforced concrete slabs 2. Prepare the experimental setup for fatigue and static load testing of the casted concrete slabs. 3. Helping a graduate student to setup all the necessary sensors before performing the load tests. 4. Attend weekly meetings with the advisor and collaborate with other students working on the project. 5. Develop a reliable data acquisition system for simultaneously collecting data from all the sensors and cameras. 6. Help the advisor in publishing peer reviewed journals. |
Required Qualifications | Proficient Knowledge of Concrete structures (Design and Casting), American Concrete Institute Codes, Contact/Non-Contact Sensor Systems, and Concrete Load testing. |
Preferred Qualifications | Knowledge of Structural Health Monitoring, Statistical Data analysis, Neural networks, and Machine learning is a plus. |
