Structural Biologist in Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time tenure track Investigator at the rank of Associate or full Professor with expertise in the structural biology of membrane proteins who will have opportunities to work in a collegial and collaborative scientific environment that is rich with core facilities, robust cross-disciplinary graduate training programs, and diverse expertise that is especially strong in ion channel biology

Qualified candidates will have advanced expertise in cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo EM) for determining high resolution structures of membrane proteins.  Expertise in structure-aided drug discovery, cryogenic electron tomography (cryo ET) and related experimental approaches is also desirable. Candidates should have Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees, substantial research experience, and evidence of sustainable extramural funding. Successful candidates will be assigned ample laboratory space and generous start-up resources including access to a soon-to-be purchased state-of-the-art cryogenic electronic microscope (Titan Krios).
