The salary for this position is $37,920 (minimum) up to $49,116. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.

Job Summary
We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Strategic Planning Coordinator – Project
The Strategic Plan Program Coordinator is a full-time project position, serving as the primary coordinator of the strategic planning process being undertaken at EWU. Coordinating includes organizing multiple stakeholders and constituents to provide input in designing processes and systems to improve organizational effectiveness. This role serves as the administrative liaison to the universities strategic planning consultant in partnership with the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
This is a 14-month project position reporting to the Executive Director for Institutional Effectiveness.
The position requires a high standard of personal and professional ethics, and the ability to communicate and work effectively with all constituent groups internal and external to the institution, and in a collective bargaining and shared governance environment. This position will exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying rules and regulations.

Conditions of Employment

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree, any field OR evidence of expected completion of bachelor’s degree within 6 months of start date will be accepted.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and project implementation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience in promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in management, operations, project management, strategy, leadership, or related field.
  • Experience with strategic planning.
  • Experience with annual reporting procedures.

    University, Division, and Other Unit Strategic Planning Support
    • Collaborate with external consultants throughout the project planning and implementation process.
    • Schedule meetings, schedule feedback and strategy sessions, reserve rooms, coordinate communications and logistics such as space, equipment, IT support, and ensure administrators are briefed on relevant matters before meetings.
    • Attend strategy sessions as needed and maintain file documents for data analysis, key findings, trends, and other relevant information.
    • Participate in gathering and collection of recommendations and communication plans for launch and rollout.
    • Coordinate project paperwork and ensure all materials are filed, stored, and retained in accordance with state and university policies.
    • Develop working relationships with affected constituencies at all levels; ensure that constituent representatives are kept appropriately informed of project activities and are encouraged to participate as appropriate.
    • Advise process teams representing constituent needs regarding cross-functional considerations, workflow integration and coordination, and optimization of best practices.
    • Provide and ensure communication with and between project and constituent management at critical points in the implementation of the project plan.
    • Coordinate implementation of internal and external resources and expertise as appropriate to achieve project objectives.
    • Ensure that projects are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters; inform leadership of potential delays that may require a negotiation of changes in project resources as necessary to achieve objectives and timelines.
    • Assist in the design and maintenance of the Strategic Plan website.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
