Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
JIFSAN will support efforts to increase the sampling and analyses of foods identified by USDA to expand the Foundation Foods database. This position will be responsible for gathering food items to derive values and collect data such as number of samples, sampling location, date of collection, and other local market analysis data points. Incumbent will be responsible for travel to local markets, collection of samples, documentation of samples, and shipping of samples to be further analyzed by USDA. Incumbent ensures that purchasing, shipping, and procurement policies are followed and records are maintained for this program. 
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED AND Five years related work experience.

Preferences:
Kitchen or lab experience is a plus.

Physical Demands
Sedentary office work at times. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must have the ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Must have and maintain valid driver’s license and have means of transportation.
