Job Description

Assist Chemistry Dept. Stockroom Supervisor with tasks assigned, including acceptance/disbursement of stockroom orders/supplies, incoming packages, etc. Manages a database for tracking chemical stock in the Chemistry Department. Facilitates the flow of materials. Will work in HokeMart to receive incoming packages. Shipping packages such as research samples, literature, etc. out thru Fedex and UPS. Position will require delivery of materials on campus.

Required Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively; ability to maintain accurate records and files and to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations; proficient in the use of computers and software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, email, and database management.

Preferred Qualifications

Education or training in chemistry with knowledge of hazardous properties of common chemicals; working knowledge of HokieMart; experience in business purchasing.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
