Position Purpose
Spring 2024
Position Purpose: The STEM Coordinator will improve/create support systems for minorities in STEM, both academic and social. They will research national trends, guiding principles and best practices in STEM strategies/learning, implementation and evaluation, and communicate information to students, staff, key faculty, Deans and community partners.  Provide leadership in identification, design, dissemination, implementation, and evaluation of promising and best practices in STEM-related learning. Thus creating  a holistic support program from minorities in STEM.
STEM Coordinator will be supervised by the Director of the Center whom they will work with to guide and assist current and future  STEM at UCM. In addition, students selected for this position will be expected to: 
  • Keep record of interactions with students
  • Host STEM related events
  • Create a welcome guide including FAQs
  • Keep office hours to support students
  • Tutor students in STEM related subjects and/or arrange tutoring sessions

Requirements:
· STEM Major (Junior or Senior)/Graduate Student
· US Citizen
Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent, Credit Hours (Specify hours below)
Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation
