The Orange Cluster Administration supports three academic units: Communication, Linguistics, and Political Science, and is comprised of 56 ladder- rank faculty members, 12 unit-18 and Continuing and Temporary Lecturers, over 105 non-Senate academic employees of varying titles per quarter, 14 FTE career staff, 105+ graduate students, and 2,500+ declared undergraduate majors. This position is a direct report to the Orange Cluster's Undergraduate Advising Supervisor. This position will work closely with the Department Chairs, Orange Cluster CAO, Undergraduate Directors, and respective Undergraduate Affairs Committees.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, serve as one of four primary advisors in the Orange Cluster Undergraduate Advising Center. Provide comprehensive, advanced academic advising on a wide range of complex issues to undergraduate students in the departmental majors and support faculty members. Independently handle orientation processes, including freshman and transfer students. Interpret and implement policies and administer undergraduate activities for the department. Work with faculty on program development and administration. Manage quality assessment and policy development.
